HR Payroll & Employee Management System is a web-based application developed using PHP and MySQL to help manage essential tasks in human resources and payroll. It allows companies to keep track of employee information, salaries, leaves, invoices, and performance goals.This project gives developers and students a solid starting point for building or expanding HR management systems. It’s designed in plain PHP and can be easily customized to suit different needs.

⚙️ Note: A new version is being developed using Laravel, with better features and a more organized backend structure.

These features are primarily HTML-based at this stage and are intended for customization and backend implementation.

How to Set Up

Requirements:

  • VS Code
  • XAMPP (includes Apache & MySQL)
  • PHP (5.6.3 or 7.4.12 recommended)
  • Web Browser

Step 1: Extract the Project

  1. Download the ZIP file of the project.
  2. Extract it to:
    C:\xampp\htdocs\project name

Step 2: Open in VS Code

  1. Open Visual Studio Code.
  2. Go to File > Open Folder.
  3. Open the folder:
    C:\xampp\htdocs\project name

Step 3: Set Up the Database

  1. Open XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL.
  2. Open your browser and go to:
    http://localhost/phpmyadmin
  3. Click on New to create a new database named:
    smarthr
  4. Go to Import, choose the .sql file from the database folder inside the project.
  5. Click Go.

Step 4: Run the Project

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Visit:
    http://localhost/project name
  3. You’ll see the login page or dashboard.
